Nor do I think the Bible argues against it.

You might like to look at http://jhm-old.scilla.org.uk/2010/04/science-and-faith-war-or-peace.html where I commented on the debate a couple of years ago. If you read it I'd be interested to know what you think about it.

But the most important thing of all is that we don't let differences of opinion become issues to fight over. There are plenty of scientists like me that believe in Jesus. Some related discussion about Genesis has gone on in the last few days at Felicity Dale's blog 'Simply Church' - http://simplychurch.com/eve-and-the-apple/

Thanks again, Susan - and blessings.Chrishttp://blog.scilla.org.uk/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7588328928227524790.post-5202804834138227112013-01-06T17:37:55.365+00:002013-01-06T17:37:55.365+00:00Thank you Chris for the food for thought. There again it is hardly surprising that ideas like this would have taken root in communist countries where Christianity has had to fight hard for survival. I seem to remember that some of the earliest scientific records linked to plant breeding i.e. genetics were written up by a monk. It is hardly surprising that an ideology with a reputation of fighting against the things of God would try and debunk theories that were based on biblical principles and confirmed by scientists who happened to be Christians. Evolution is a load of bunkum as the world was created but genetics includes principles God set in place to sustain the earth.

A few years ago i was asked to teach A level RE which included looking at scientific theories of creation. I knew very little about these theories so I did some research and struggled to make sense out of any of them. It was worse than trying to wade through treacle.I just got more and more confused. Nothing seemed to hold together. Either I was not bright enough to understand or they were talking nonsense. With a degree level education I can hardly be called thick so they must be talking nonsense. No wonder some people call evolution a fairy story for adults!Susannoreply@blogger.com
